Mundie Source is a by-the-fans, for-the-fans website. Without submissions from fans like you, this website wouldn't have grown over the past year into what it is today. That's why we hope that you'll take a minute or two and send us whatever it is that your talented self has come up with! Don't worry that it isn't a good enough video or that you're not skilled enough in Photoshop--we love Mortal Instruments fans and we're dedicated to getting their work out there to other fans! So onward!
I respond to all submissions within 48 hours, unless this box says that I'm away and/or super busy (example: If it's finals time at school and I've been procrastinating). Therefore, if it's been a few days and I haven't told you that I've gotten your submission, please send it again! (Just don't send it ten times in an hour because you didn't hear back right away. I'm not a machine!)
Fan Fiction
We're sorry that we can't host fan fiction ourselves, but it's just not an option right now. The coding is just a tad too advanced. So in order to submit fan fiction, you have to have it uploaded somewhere else. If you aren't signed up anywhere, we'd suggested FanFiction.Net or LiveJournal.Com. Both are completely free and have legions of Mortal Instruments fans who will happily review and/or comment on your work.
Once you've got a story hosted somewhere, it's as easy as sending an e-mail to Submissions@MundieSource.Net with "Fan Fiction Submission" in the title. In the body, link to your piece, give the title, rating, pairing (if applicable), credit name (if different from the username--though we will link back to the journal/fanfiction.net account unless otherwise told), and a brief summary. If your story has spoilers, please indicate which books.
Basically, a submission should look like this:
Fic: http://xjustadoreher.livejournal.com/33115.html Title: Marked By: Ashley Rating: PG-13 Pairing: Alec/Magnus Spooilers?: Yes. Up to & including CoG. Summary: My alternate-focus version of that great scene on 423 ^_^
It's that simple! We look forward to reading your stories!
Fan Art, Icons, Wallpaper
Fan Art, Icons, and Wallpaper are easier because we can actually host these. To submit them, send an e-mail with the image as an attachment to Submissions@MundieSource.Net with "Fan Art/Icon/Wallpaper Submission" (whichever you're submitting, of course). You may submit more than one image in the same e-mail--no need to send 20 e-mails for a batch of 20 icons.
For Fan Art, include the title of the artwork, artist, a link back to your own website/journal/etc., and a rating. For icons and wallpaper, just a link back to your website or journal for credit will suffice.
Fan Art will be up soon. Technical difficulties are being worked out.
Fan Mixes & Fan Videos
We do not host Fan Mixes and Fan Videos ourselves, but and YouTube are good hosts, respectively. For Fan Mixes, we ask that you don't just throw together a playlist and send it in. Please think about it and make a list of reasons why--perhaps posted on a blog or LiveJournal--and embed the playlist in it. Some people choose to make .zip files to share the music, as well as cover art. If you choose to take that route, is a good photo sharing site.
For videos, we'll accept anything that is related to TMI: 'Ship videos, trailers, dream casts--all of it.
To submit a Fan Mix or Fan Video, just send the link to Submissions@MundieSource.Net with "Fan Video / Mix Submission" (depending on which you're submitting). Please only submit work that is your own, not videos you saw on YouTube and liked. We see videos we like all the time, but that doesn't give us permission to put them up!
